About Us
In 1998 our world changed forever. All the stability and comfort we had known was ripped from under us. Our second son was diagnosed with Autism. Receiving such a difficult diagnosis was an incredibly challenging and emotional experience. We felt shock, fear, and uncertainty about the future. With education, awareness and support we learned as a family to help support each other and to become the advocate our son needed to succeed in this world. A diagnosis does not define a person or their potential. It can be the beginning of a journey towards understanding, acceptance, and finding new ways to thrive. A quote I have held close to my journey is "If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path. Your own path you make with every step you make. That’s why it’s your path."- Joseph Campbell. Autism is unique but it does not have to be isolating. I am passionate about creating that space for our children.
Our Impact
Supporting parents of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is crucial for both the parent's well being and the children's development. Parents of children with ASD often experience increased stress, anxiety and potential mental health challenges due to the unique demands of caring for an individual with ASD. Effective support can alleviate these burdens, improve family dynamics and ultimately enhance the child's progress.
